ETCS/OLS Academic Leadership Committee (All)
Meeting at 9:00 am - 10:40 in ET 206

Present: Jihad Albayarri, Bob Barrett, Mary Jane Casiano, Dan Gebhart, Kim McDonald, Sarah Merchant, Ken Modesitt, Carlos Pomalaza-Raez, Gerard Voland, Steve Walter
Absent: Hal Broberg, Carol Dostal, David Erbach
ALC minutes of April 11, 25 and May 6, 2006 were approved. The May 6 minutes were updated to show that Penny will periodically contact the chairs about curriculum changes to CAPP.
‘Round-the-table introductions were made by all present. The new folks were asked to email a short biographical paragraph to Gerard by August 11 in preparation of the ETCS/OLS Fall Convocation.
A new ALC Structure be implemented as follows: 1) the chairs will meet with the dean at the first meeting of the month, and 2) the chairs and administrators will meet the second meeting of the month. The proposed meeting times will be the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 9:00 am (Gerard will check with Hal and Carol) before confirming the dates/times.
AFR documents were presented by Bob Barrett. The three documents (Annual Faculty Review (AFR) Guidelines, Annual Faculty Review form, and EZ-Annual Faculty Review form) came from the ETCS Assembly. Other documents (Department Chair’s Feedback page, February 21, 1995 Guides and an updated annual Faculty Review Process guide) were also distributed by Bob. There was discussion on these documents.
Next Steps: 1. These documents will be reviewed again by the chairs in September.
2. The documents will be made available to the chairs on a shared drive
3. Bob will send them electronically to the chairs.
4. How this effects faculty on partial retirement will also be discussed.

Next meeting will be August 23 at 9:00 am in ET 206 - this will be for all administrators and chairs. Topics to be discussed will be the Annual Faculty Review Process Guide and the Technology Days Draft Proposal distributed by Ken Modesitt.
