Honors Program: As Director of the Honors Program, Shree Dhawalee provided information and description of the honors program. She asked the chairs and advisors to encourage our students to participate in the Honors Program by mentoring, creating H-Option courses, or by creating a basic beginning course for honor students. Announcements:
Gerard asked the chairs for a report on retention studies. This is due by May 15 and should cover: 1) what are the issues and 2) what actions are planned.
Dr. Hannah and others are working to identify stages in a crisis such as a bird flu pandemic. Everyone is asked to think of ways that we can maintain operation such as delivering classes on-line or through email.
Ken Perry announced that the Sr. Design Projects for MIET will be held on April 28 at 12 noon in ET 115. Everyone is welcome. The students will also have poster presentations that they will display and rotate in their display case.
Carlos announced that the Engineering Sr. Design presentations will be this evening and Thursday. Gerard said the the ENGR 199 electrical engineering and safety course taught with Jeff Nowak will be presenting this weekend at Science Central from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Sarah announced that Sunday is open house in the ballroom from 1:00-3:00 pm. This year we have several faculty representing our programs.
