Model Guidelines
  • Model Guidelines can be found on pages A-11 and B-57-58 in the Handbook
  • Model Parameters
    • All models must be built to scale (there is no set scale; you decide what scale you want to use) and you have to create a key to describe the scale you are using.
    • *NEW* The final scale model must not exceed: 25” wide x 50” long x 20” high (formerly 30"x60"x24")
    • *ALL models will be measured (points will be deducted if models exceed set parameters by any amount!)
  • Models must have one moving part and the power source must be self-contained
  • * Scoring sheet rubric can be found on page A-73 of the Handbook
  • *NEW* Model Rubric A-75 through A-77
  • Models should be made primarily out of recycled materials and expenses cannot exceed $100
    • Competition Expense Form, A-53
    • Estimate the cost of your recycled materials as if you:
      • Bought them from a garage sale; or
      • If taken to a recycling facility, how much compensation you could receive for plastic and/or aluminum items
    • Be sure to include cost of presentation materials, props, special clothing, visual aids, posters, etc. in your expense report
  • Please note: Expense forms are due at the time of registration on the day of the competition.
