Team Entropy led IPFW into its first year of competition held in Milwaukee, WI, June 2004 - yes, for the first time. Against all odds, they successfully completed the competition, a great accomplishment for a rookie team. Team Entropy created the base for team NSLR Racing, IPFW’s 2005 team. NSLR Racing modified and improved the previous year’s vehicle and gave a surprise when they placed 67th in a 141 team competition – including some competitive international teams. They placed 18th in the design category for that competition. After the competition in 2005, the frame was no longer exploitable for Team Leftovers, IPFW’s 2006 team – 2006 SAE Mini Baja Rules require a new frame with much more strict safety regulations. Through rigorous analysis, fabrication, and testing, a new frame and suspension were built. |

Since 2004, IPFW has competed in the SAE Midwest Mini-Baja Design Competition, one of the collegiate design competitions held by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The Mini-Baja design competitions are annual events that challenge engineering students to function as a team to design, build, test, promote, and race a 4-wheel off-road vehicle within the limits of the rules. The students are also to generate financial support for their project and manage their educational priorities. Through these projects, engineering students experience “real world” design and manufacturing problems.
